Lifetime achievement
Nice View Children's Village
The stark contrast between posh hotels and bathing beaches here and huge poverty and the misery of the many street children and orphans there moved Gudrun and Edmund Dürr to turn the life of their family of five around. They moved to the south coast of Kenya to set up a children’s home and village in Msambweni to help children in need.
Engagement
Future and perspective for children in Kenya
In the meantime, the Nice View Trust Foundation includes a carpentry workshop, a tailor’s shop, a farm project, a sports facility and a kindergarten and school, which children from the village are also allowed to attend and where they are served a second breakfast and lunch. In recent years, a medical centre has been established in Msambweni, which offers good medical care and prevention to all sections of the population.
Since 2012, all sub-projects have been combined under the Nice View Trust Foundation.

Personal visit
During our personal visits to the children’s village, we were able to convince ourselves of the sustainability of this life project and the whole “Nice View” family has grown so close to our hearts. It’s like coming home every time.
