Review of the year 2021
It’s already time to look back on the past year. We can hardly believe that two successful years with our association are now behind us.
In 2021, we managed to grow further, meet new people and support the Nice View project in Kenya even more. But first things first…

January / February 2021: Visit Nice View
At the beginning of the year, we crowned our first year as an association with a visit to the Nice View Children's Village in Kenya. We were able to show and hand over our Africa calendar to the children.
The joy and radiance of the children always gives us additional energy and motivation to continue with our work.

Summer 2021: Planning calendar 2022
As soon as we got home, we started planning the 2022 Africa calendar. Once again, we received the photos from our South African friends Marc & Stella. In the middle of the preparations for the calendar, we received the sad and completely surprising news of Marc's death.
Together with Stella, we decided to finish the calendar anyway - the result and a precious memory of Marc.
After completing the calendar, we naturally also sent copies to Stella and her daughters in South Africa. After two attempts, it actually worked out and the calendars arrived.

Desk calendar
In addition to the wall calendars, this year we are also designing new desk calendars with interchangeable photo cards.
The corresponding wooden plinths are produced for us by Jugendheim Erlenhof - an institution for reorientation, development and training in Reinach BL

September 2021: Visit to Africa
In September, we then had the opportunity to travel to Kenya again as a family and visit the Nice View. We are still convinced that the donations from our association are being used in the right place and we are proud to be able to support such a great project!

Webshop - new articles
We also use our visit to Africa to buy new "African arts and crafts". On the one hand, we are directly supporting the local population and, on the other hand, we are able to expand our store range and offer a little "Africa" at our planned Christmas markets.
We are delighted that we were also able to sell various African paintings, carvings and other works of art this year.

CALENDAR SALE STARTS
Orders are being placed diligently and we are able to send our wall and desk calendars to Germany, Austria, Portugal and Holland in addition to Switzerland.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been so supportive of our mission. We are particularly pleased that we had many repeat buyers, but also that many new people came across our calendars. As always, the whole family helped with preparing, packing and sending the calendars (even our cats 😉

Christmas markets
In November, we take part in the Christmas markets in Münchenstein and Aesch. New territory for us: the more time-consuming the preparation and planning, but here too we can count on many helping hands.
The Christmas markets are a great success! Not only in terms of sales, but especially in terms of getting to know and interacting with like-minded people. We can introduce our association and the associated vision to new people and get them excited about it.

Annual financial statements
In summary, we can say that 2021 was a successful year for the association! Above all, taking part in the Christmas markets was a great new experience that was very worthwhile.
Looking back now and seeing how many people we have brought joy to with Marc's great photos, the decision to complete the calendar in Marc's spirit was the right one. The numerous feedbacks and thank-yous have given us a lot of pleasure.
With the successful calendar and Christmas sale, we were able to achieve very nice net proceeds of EUR 6,000, which we were able to transfer to the Schwarz-Weiss e.V. project in mid-January for the benefit of the Nice View Children's Village in Kenya. The joy there was great and they all say a heartfelt Asante Sana, a big thank you to you all, you are great!
At the end of the year, we gave away a few leftover wall calendars to selected regional institutions (orphanage, women's and men's home, old people's home) to bring a little joy.
We are also delighted that we will be welcoming further patrons as well as donations for our other projects. projects and that we can thus expand our support.

Moving on...
Outlook 2022
We will be going full throttle again in 2022. There will be many new products, such as soap dishes, fabric bags and cosmetic bags, in our store which will be produced in Nice View. We will of course inform you about this in due course.
Of course, we will also be creating a calendar in 2022 – but this time with our own photos, as we as a family have also discovered the hobby of photography for ourselves. So you can look forward to it 😊
A trip to Kenya to the Nice View in
in fall 2022 and renewed participation in various markets are also already planned.
This year, we would like to include another children’s project in Africa in our support alongside Nice View.
The increasing number of contacts from other charitable organizations and people who want to do something good shows us that Herz in Afrika is “found” and that our visions are supported and shared. We are happy about any support and cooperation.
